So basically, i made a little market-scene based on that lineart here: [link] All vectors.. looooots of layers. Lot of work, too. Then i imported it in Photoshop at a ridiculous imagesize (like 15kx12k pixels), drew dark blue over everything and brushed away the areas where light should be. Rinse, repeat, with a couple of different colored layers on top. So, very simple work-principle... but damn it, it took forever!
And i still have daytime-versions to do! D:
Buuut to be fair, worktime here was 5 days on vector-stuff alone (and that's for the entire picture series, not just that night-shot) and like 1 day for finishing. That's the amount of time i actually worked on it, of course. All in all, that thing took almost a month to complete. Still, i don't think that's too shabby when you take in account that i'm pretty much teaching myself all the lighting-stuff while i work.
... ah, you know. Bla bla bla, cutie marks, bla bla. PS: Final .psd size, 962mb.
